India Rejuvenating Initiatives

· A Public Appeal by IRI

Public servants who have worked on the ‘top most posts’ in the country are unanimous about the fact that ‘corruption flows from top to bottom’ and that no solution to this problem is possible till such time as those occupying top public posts continue to indulge in corruption.

· Corruption is a crime in this country and all those indulging in corruption or bribery ought to be punished as per law and sent to jail.

· All those who have occupied or are occupying ‘top most’ public posts in the country, need to publicly account for the wealth that they possess including all their movable and immovable assets.

· Corrupt public servants escape punishment because quite often those entrusted with the task of punishing the corrupt are themselves engaged in corrupt practices.

· Those who have stolen country’s assets over the years and stashed away their ill-gotten wealth, estimated at about Rs. 70 lakh crore, in foreign countries have betrayed their country. They need to be punished and the stolen assets be brought back without any delay.

· Recovery of India’s stolen assets from foreign countries can help in poverty eradication and creation of world class social and physical infrastructure in the country.

· The present system has lost its ability to deal with these problems as for years no sincere effort has been made in this regard and those charged with this responsibility are timid, pliable, and corrupt or tend to get overawed by those in power.

· Corruption in high places’ will stop and ‘recovery of India’s stolen assets’ can be realized only when a strong public movement is launched and common man pledges to support this initiative.

· Corruption and crime go together and breed on each other. The end product is FASCISM, a total negation of democracy, the hallmark of which, in the Indian context, is inclusiveness and pluralism. Wholesale eradication of corruption is an absolute must for the survival of democracy.

· If you agree with what has been stated above and believe that there is an urgent need to tackle the problem of corruption and send those indulging in bribery and corruption behind bars, then you are requested to convey your willingness to associate with this initiative (and also suggestions if any) to rid the country of corruption at the following address:
